L. Brown Recording, Inc. grew out of the ambitions of its founder, Louis S. Brown, to operate a commercial recording studio for professional classical and jazz musicians. Louis realized that there were few recording studios, even in New York City, that provide the engineering experience and space to capture the performance of trained classical musicians. In 2005 Louis opened L. Brown Recording, Inc. to fill this void in professional classical and acoustic recording. To create this environment, Louis has brought together a fully renovated studio space, a Steinway D Centennial grand piano, and state of the art analog and digital audio equipment to capture the performances created within the studio.

Owner and engineer Louis Brown has over 25 years of experience in classical and jazz recording and a well established reputation for his engineering work with professional musicians. From 1994 through 2005, he was the Chief Audio and Recording Engineer at Manhattan School of Music. During his tenure at Manhattan School of Music, he recorded and worked with some of the greatest classical and jazz artists in the world and engineered more than 10,000 professional and student recordings.
